Anthony Cribbs’ sale on October 4th includes some very rare Russian lots among them the pictured pair of 18th C. silver mounted holster pistols with Cyrillic script. Also offered is a fine Tule sword with silver gilt mounts and trophy blade.
Other desirable lots in in the catalogue are a Prosser sabre for the Duke of Cumberland, an English 17th century dish hilted rapier, a good mortuary sword, several fine bowies, Scottish swords and dirks, a duckfoot pistol and a secret skull cap.
JAMES JULIA'S SPECTACULAR FALL FIREARMS SALE OCT 4-7TH
James Julia's fall auction includes superb examples of the most desirable firearms. Pictured is one of them, an 1866 Winchester with masterpiece engraving by Conrad Ulrich. It carries and estimate of $250,000 to $500,000. Many prominent collections are in tow thousand lots offered. Spectacular lots include a naval Gatling gun, Annie Oakley’s shotgun, and a Wheelock made for royalty as well as superb collections of Lugers, Colts and Sporting doubles.

Czerny’s September sales this year include the Bonucci collection of scarce firearms and edged weapons on the 16th , Fine and scarce arms and amour on the 17th and a silent catalog on the 20th. The Bonucci collection includes rare arms such as the LeMat Carbine pictured above, an outstanding wheel lock tschinke, trick key and knuckleduster pistols, a naval seven barreled volley gun, a 24 shot pepperbox by Laport, a pair of ducks foot pistols, a pair of English four barreled pistols, a wheelock mace and a wide selection of other unusual arms.
Highlights of the second day include a very fine and rare 15th century sallet, a pair of wheelock puffers, a highly decorated pair of Cossack pistols, a painted pavise circa 1500, a selection of katanas, a Japanese Korean helmet circa 1600 and a Russian jaeger flintlock rifle among many other lots. Among the lots in San Giorgio’s September s sale are a fine pair of over and under percussion pistols By Carlo Columbo in Milan. Other fine guns in the sale include and Italian Brescian pistol signed Lazarino and Garatto circa 1660, a beautiful French cased pair pf percussion dueling pistols by Caron, Paris. A rare Italian model 1844 officers carbine with automatic priming system “la Marmora”, a German Wheelock gun circa 1680 and a pair of boxlock blunderbuss pistols with flick bayonets by Roussett Turin.
Edged weapons in the sale include and early estoc, a north Italian knightly sword circa 1300, a profusely decorated ottoman khanjar with Damascus blade, several shamshirs, a presentation Sardinian saber, a German katzbalger and fine French smallsword circa 1770.

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN'S SILVER HILTED COURT SWORD, CHRISTIE'S SEPT 20TH
Among the items being offered in Christie’s Americana sale is the recently discovered court sword sword owned by Benjamin Franklin. The sword was given by Franklin to his friend Pierre Jean Georges Cabanis, a fellow scientist for whom Franklin was something of a father figure. It is being sold by a descendant.
The Spanish silver hilted smallsword is accompanied by it’s velvet scabbard with locket inscribed in French “Sword worn by Benjamin Franklin in the battles fought in America in the cause of Liberty. / He then gave it to his friend P.J.G. Cabanis”
