CZERNY'S FINE & SCARCE ANTIQUE ARMS & ARMOUR, JUNE 10TH

Czerny’s June sale includes many historically and visually iconic lots such as the German late 15th century Sallet pictured. Carrying the highest estimate in the sale (70,000 Euro)is a Japanese kabuto armor with a hachi of 32 iron plates. There are many other very fine Japanese lots in the sale. Early European firearms lots in the sale include a fabulous Viennese flintlock pistol by Felix Meyer, a Greek silver clad flintlock long gun, a luxurious cased Italian bu by Bognili with unusual percussion mechanism and an early 17th century French matchlock carbine engraved “ Magazin Royal”.

Indo-Persian lots include a rock crystal hilted khanjar dagger, a sumptuous matchlock torador and a thega sword engraved chiseled and inlaid in gold with the name of the Durga goddess in her reincarnations as a well as a good pata gauntlet sword with inlaid silver decoration.

European and and Russian swords in the sale include several fine shashqua, a German rapier circa 1600, an Italian rapier and parrying dagger pair and an 1828 Russian sword with the order of St Anna award. Click on an image for a link to the sale. 



SAN GIORGIO ASTE, ANTIQUE ARMS AND MILITARIA, MAY 22nd

The cover of San Giorgio Aste’s next sale pictures a fine Japanese Kabuto helmet, one of several in the sale, along with Japanese several Katana, Wakizashi and Daisho.  Also offered in the sale is a fine maine gauche dagger from Naples C 1650 with gilt embellishments. Guns in the sale include an exceptional pair of Austrian pistols by C 1720, a fine pair of Bavarian flintlock cavalry pistols and a Dragoon pistol from the Kingdom of Sardinia C 1726.  A French pistol by LePage had mounts in the ottomans style, likely a presentation piece.
 
The sale also includes an Indo-Persian Khula Khud and rare  camail helmet as well as several American revolvers, sporting guns, hunting sword and a large selection of ethnographic and civilian daggers and plug bayonets.

ANTIKVITY PRAHA, FINE ARMS AND ARMOUR, MAY 27th

Antikvity Praha are holding and auction that includes fine arms and armour on May 27th . Pictured is a deluxe single shot match-rifle by Johann Peterlongo of Innsbruck being offered. Other top longarm lots include  a wheellock rifle by Matheus Matl, a flintlock fowler by Johann Christian Gorges, an Ottoman miquelet-lock rifle, an  Italian miquelet-lock fowler a fine percussion rifle by Josef Lochner, and a Luftwaffen-Drilling M 30 by Sauer & Sohn, with its transport Case.
 
Handguns include a snap bayonet flintlock pistol by Spencer, many cased guns, among them a pinfire pepperbox revolver with removable barrel, a Webley Bentley open frame percussion revolver, a Tranter model No.2 rimfire revolver by Henry Jackson. Shrewsbury and a Webley longspur revolver 2nd model in a leather case.

Also included in the sale are a wide section of rapiers and early broadswords as well as 18th century hunting and military examples.



AUCTIONS IMPERIAL, SPRING SALE OF FINE ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOUR, MAY 27TH

Auctions Imperial are holding their spring sale on May 27th .  Among the most highly valued lots is the Persian shamshir pictured, from the Qajar Dynasty with fully-modeled parrot’s head pommel it has a grip chiseled overall and an archaic style blade inlaid with the name and title of Shah Abbas I of Iran and the Qajar maker Assad Allah. Among the many other fine eastern swords in the sale are  several fine Ottoman kilij and shamshirs with scabbards, many of which are signed. European swords include a massive early German two hander, a Hungarian hussars sabre and several cuphilt rapiers.

Besides the edged weapons, the sale includes a pair of fine Greek kompoura flintlock pistols, a Moro cannon, an Ottoman tapancha pistol, a balta battle axe, a rare Caucasian flintlock pistol, and a Spanish migulet blunderbuss. Ther are many other firearm lots throughout the catalog.
 
Amour in the sale includes a Hungarian parade shield, a Hyderabad cuirass, a European close helmet, a Mughal helmet with camail, as well as a plate and mail armour coat, bajuband armguards and an English Cromwellian helmet. Click on the image for a link to the sale. 



HERMANN HISTORICA SPRING SALE, APRIL 24th to MAY 6th

Hermann Historica’s spring sale is just around the corner. The four day event features antique and modern arms, historical collectibles and antiquities. Pictured are a superb pair of single barrel two shot chiseled steel and gold inlaid cased pistols by Vincent Lebeda of Prague. Other fine and rare guns include an exquisite Purdey shotgun, a Rare Schwarzlose Mod. 1898 with original finish and a rare Bittner repeating pistol Mod. 1896.


Among the edged weapons in the sale is are an 18th C Greek silver-mounted and gilt kilij, a Russian award shaska M 1909 and a very fine chiselled French deluxe sword, circa 1600.  Armour lots offer include a  East Anatolian or Iranian chamfron, a Polish Hussar cuirass and a French A helmet M 1814/15 of the Chevau-Légers de la Garde Royale.
 
Other fine lots offered include a superb Kuchenreuter Wheelock, a pair of Prague two shot single barreled pistols by Vincent Lebeda and a fine Ottoman silver mounted Shamshir. Click on the image for a link to the sale.
