SAN GIORGIO ASTE, ANTIQUE ARMS AND MILITARIA, SEPTEMBER 14th

American arms are well represented in San Giorgio Aste’s next auction, September the 14^twith three rare Volcanic pistols grace the cover of. The sale also includes two rare Henry rifles, a Colt model 1855 Root carbine rifle and a rare Smith and Wesson carbine pistol, one of only 514 examples. A cased Colt Patterson No 5 is the top lot offered. An extensive selection of Colts will be sold with Dragoons, Peacemakers, Army and Navy Models
Other fine firearms include a cased pair of Wogdon flintlock duelers and a beautiful pair of French, late 18^th C flintlock pistols by Beardy. Inlaid French and German Wheelock’s are also crossing the block as well as Japanese matchlocks and military muskets and sporting guns.
Edged weapons in the sale include and early Italian swept hilt rapier, smallswords, polearms, main gauche daggers, a French first empire staff officer’s sabre and French restoration period officers sabre from the Queens cuirassiers. Click on the image for a link to the sale.

SOUTHAMS, ANTIQUE AND SPORTING GUNS, SEPT 14TH

A pair of English pistols by David Wynn circa 1690 are Beign offered by Southams on Sept. 14th. Other good lots include a Wogdon pistol, a pair of 25 bore flintlock traveling pistols by Beckwith, a cased Adams percussion pistol and several cased sporting guns, among them a flintlock example by Manton.

Other lots in the sale include sporting guns swords and shooting accessories.

CZERNYS FINE ARMS AND ARMOUR SEPT 16TH

Among the many fine pairs of civilian pistols offered in Czerny's september sale is this desireable set of cased saw-handle duelers by Evans of Cambridge pictured onthe catalog cover. Other fine pistols offered include an over and under by Staudenmeyer with rare catalan style grip, a Ripol pistol, a cased pair by LePage, a Dumonthier knife pistol and a rare and early Dutch wender pistol by Jan Flock C. 1660.

Swords in the sale include European civilan and military examples, among them medieval examples, broadswords, several fine chisled rapiers and a selction of smallswords and miltary sabers. A Hungarian magnates sword is among the more luxurious examples offered, as is the superb vermeil hilted french smallsword with original scabbard and finely chiseled mounts.

Other lots include European, Tibetan and Korean armour, wheelock and miquelet longarms, shotguns by Wilkinson and Holland & Holland among other vintage examples as well as a range of ethnographic arms from around the world. Click on the image for a link to the sale.
