Antikvity Praha's next auction features an exceptional selection of antique arms. Headlining the sale is a late 17th-century Austrian silver-mounted presentation sabre with fitted case, estimated between €22,000 and €30,000. Other notable edged weapons include a late 19th-century Austro-Hungarian presentation sabre with an earlier blade and a Pappenheimer rapier.

The auction also boasts many early firearms, such as a remarkable South German sporting Wheelock rifle, a striking Baby Le Mat two-barreled centerfire pistol, and a rare factory-engraved Volcanic pistol (Smith & Wesson No. 2) with an iron frame.

A wide range of flintlock pistols is available, including a pair by Hans Perztman of Freistadt, a pair of officer's pistols by Nicolas Noël Boutet, a pair of late 18th-century French silver-mounted naval flintlock pistols by Royet Frères, and a pair of Belgian silver-mounted flintlock pistols by H. Meunier (mentioned in Liège in 1764). Also featured is a cased pair of flintlock pistols by Pierre-Nicolas Boutet, made in Versailles.

Among the percussion pistols, the catalog includes a cased pair of English saw-handled percussion dueling pistols by John Blanch, a Bohemian pair by A. Gutwirth of Louň, a cased pair by Houllier Blanchard of Paris, and a pair of very early double-barreled percussion pistols by Boucheron-Pirmet of Paris.

Probus Auction’s sale of November 25^th includes a wide range of Swedish, European, American and other arms from around the world and from a variety of historical epochs. The auction uses a new platform so bidders will need to create new passwords at www.probusauktioner.se . There are several fine pairs of pistols offered in the sale including the pictured pair by Starbus Stockholm circa 1700 and a second pair with finely chiseled steel barrels and locks by Beckers Maestricht also circa 1700. A pair of very attractive inlaid wheellock pistols are included in the catalog in addition to a later matched pair of formidable flintlock “manstoppers” by Mason, London. A pair of Swedish M 1850 cavalry pistols with detachable stock are also offered.

Among the longarms in the sale are a fine Ottoman gold inlaid and silver clad miquelet rifle, a Colt revolving percussion rifle, a mint Swedish M 1820 carbine,  a late 18^th C. Danish cavalry carbine and an early 18^th C .Austrian wheellock rifle. American percussion revolvers offered include a Rogers and Spencer revolver and a Remington new Model Army.

Early edged weapons include a rare Swedish Cavalry sword M 1717 variant, a near mint French plug-bayonet C 1700, a Swedish/North European sabre C 1640 with perfume bottle pommel. While warming up for the December Premiere Auction, Rock island continues to hold arms and accessory sales that include many desirable and scarce lots such as the French Manhurin MR73 .357 in the November 6^th sale. Among the other revolvers offered in this sale are a Jerry Miculek S&W M 327 in 9mm,  a fully engraved F.LLI Pietta  “Cattlebrand” 1873 Single Action .357 and a S&W M 629-6 bear survuvalist in .44 Magnum.

Also in this catalog is a pre-ban Colt AR 15 with Diemaca style LMG upper receiver, a H&K P7 M13, two Colt 1911’s with Novak custom upgrades and a Beretta M 96 with extended barrel and compensator with case.

Scollard auctions Sale of Oct 28^th includes this superb MOP hilted mameluke saber with etched frosted blade and brass scabbard. The sale also includes several suits of armour, and unusual Scottish basket hilted broadsword, crossbow pistol and a scarce Spanish folding flintlock carbine.

Among the many other scarce lots offered are a Malay Istinggar matchlock rifle. A Spanish colonial boar spear, a rare Ripoll miquelet flintlock pistol with characteristic stock, a European riding backsword and a Spanish crab claw backsword.

Poulin's 4-day sale starts Oct 31st and incide many choice collector lots such as the pictured DMW C93 Borchardt. The sale will appeal to military collectors as well and those interested in Western and American arms and also to sporting enthusiasts. Among the historical military arms in the sale is a rare Czech ZK-420S designed in 1942, a Marine Corps first Issue Springfield gas trap M1 Garand, a Colt 1952 Aircrewman revolver most of which were order destroyed by the Pentagon and a Norwegian Kongsberg produced in 1945.

Sporting guns include a Parker VHE 410, A Winchester Grand American double 3 GA set, a matched pair of William & Powell Sidelocks and a JP Sauer Meisterwork gold inlaid boxlock.

Among the Western and classic American antique guns offered are a pair of 1805 Harpers Ferry Pistols, a Scarce Civil war Lee Firearms single shot carbine, an 1863 Henry rifle with provenance, and a fine Ulrich engraved, gold inlaid Winchester model 1910 self-loading rifle in .410. Skinner Boston are selling historic arms from the Blanchard foundation on Oct 3^rd. Carrying the highest estimate if the Iconic Nock Volley gun pictured, used  by British the British navy to clear opponents from the rigging  during naval assaults. Other highly estimated lots include a presentation engraved Henry rifle, an Ulrich engraved Winchester 1866 saddle ring carbine and two engraved Volcanic pistols.

Scarce and fine examples of cased Colts offered include an 1849 engraved pocket revolver, a silver plated and engraved Metropolitan Police revolver and an exceptional engraved and nickel-plated Manhattan Navy. Click on the image for a link to the sale.

Czerny’s fall sale takes place over three days starting on September 25^th.  It includes two days of arms and armour and a third day focusing on medals, orders and decorations. The fine south German close helm with Augsburg style engraving circa 1540 pictured is one of several early armour lots in the first day. A spectacular embossed half-armour in the style of Caremolo Modrone and a German full tournament armour C 1600 will also cross the block.

Other offerings in this catalog include a fine Jade hilted Kard, a Prussian Garde Du corps helmet, a tachi signed Kuni Kartachi, several Japanese suits of armour as well as a rare tanegashimi matchlock pistol and rare Japanese flintlock tinder lighter. Rare swords in the sale include a fine Tatar sabre, an ottoman silver hilted shamshir and several Karabela’s.

The second day’s catalog has many fine antique firearms including an extraordinary wheellock tschinke, a puffer pistol form the guard of prince Christian I dated 1564, a Russian flintlock pistol made at Tula in 1787 for General Mikhail Kretchetnikov and an early 18^th C  Negroni mad snaphaunce sporting gun. Scollard auctions sale of the 36^th includes a wide selection of arms and armour along with fine antiques. Many of the arms lots have Mexican, Central and South American associations including the Spanish military flintlock rifle with association to General Bassecout y Dupre pictured. Other Spanish American lots offered include a massive pair of Peruvian silver stirrups, a Spanish Military “Trabuco” rifle, swords including Spanish cup hilt rapiers and regulation 18^th C. cavalry swords,  A Catalan stocked escopeta, is also included in this category as is a scarce “Amercia Americano Mexico” C. 1900.

Lots from other periods include a good decorative fluted full armour, a Walloon sword, several crossbows and stone bows, an Ottoman “Sisana” flintlock rifle and a Tibetan longsword. Click on the image for a link to the sale.

Guyette & Deeters Fall Sorting Sale takes place Sept 14^th. It includes a range of fine American and English sporting doubles O/U’s and other highly collectible arms in all price ranges.

Among the classic arms offered are over 40 examples of Parker shotguns, including the AAH grade 12 gauge pictured with 31-inch flid steel Whitworth barrels, a 16 gauge CHE grade skeet guns and a handsome DH grade Pigeon gun with Titanic barrels. Parker reproductions offered include a fine DHE 3-barrel set in 28 and .410 gauges and a BHE grade 12 Gauge gun with two sets of barrels.

Among the fine pairs in the sale are A true pair of 32 bore Greener shotguns, a pair of Moretti engraved Famars & a pair of Arietta game guns. Among the other lots are a fine Churchill 28 gauge premiere quality sidelock, an extremely rare factory engraved Winchester model 1886 with matted barrel in 45-90, a Browning superposed  Midas grade .410 and a superb AH Fox  FE grade documented in the double gun journal. Rock Island’s August Premiere Sale running 23^rd to the 25^th includes some of the finest firearms that have come to market this year in the western, sporting, military and antique categories. The sale includes over 1700 hundred lots. Carrying the highest estimate ($275,000-425,000) is the documented “Invictus” Singer 1911 pistol carried by B-24 pilot, Lt Col Thomas Moss of the 765^th Bombardment Squadron. This historic Singer is a “Holy Grail” for collectors.

Among the other standouts inthe sale are a gold and silver ornamented wheellock carbine from the cabinet d’armes of Louis XIII, King of France, a Buffalo Bill presented Winchester lever action model 1895, an attic-find mint condition Winchester model 1886, a USN Colt Gatling Gun, a Keith Thompson Engraved P.V. Nelson .410 OU shotgun and a rare US Johnson NFA transferable LMG.
